Living with constant pain is difficult, and people who suffer from chronic pain know how it can disrupt and damage their lives. It can make it difficult to enjoy even the simplest daily activities.
Chronic Pain is a constant pain that can last from a few months to many years. This relentless problem causes severe pain, sleep deprivation and even depression if it persists for a long period of time. Pain can be caused by injuries, types of diseases or weak bones and muscles. For instance, a common central nervous system disorder that causes great pain through the body is Fibromyalgia. Anyone can have chronic pain, but it is most common in middle-aged to older adults.
The Pain Clinic at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center can help patients who suffer from chronic pain. The clinic operates on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the Outpatient Surgical Services Department. Anesthesiologists, Dr. Baba Abudu and Dr. Terry Crawford treat patients for a variety of pain.
The more common ailments include: non-surgical back pain; pain from acute shingles; myofacial pain syndromes and postherpetic neuralgia. For some types of pain epidurals are administered with or without fluoroscopy.
Patients must be referred to the Pain Clinic by their primary care physician. The number to call for appointment by your physician is 620-252-1581.
