Anyone who is dealing with physical disabilities resulting in pain, decreased range of motion, decreased strength, or impaired ability to perform gross motor skills (transfer from one position to another, stand, walk, etc.) would benefit from physical therapy services. Physical Therapy is a treatment that focuses on restoring an individual's activity, strength and mobility following an injury or surgery. Physical therapy can also help manage pain, whether that pain is caused by poor posture, injury or disease. Physical therapy offers land-based therapy as well as aquatic therapy.
Individuals may require physical therapy for a variety of reasons:
Physical therapy evaluates a patient and determines the most effective treatment to attain maximum results. Once the physical therapist has identified the problem, he or she will create a treatment plan. With proper and consistent treatment, physical therapy can help relieve pain and reduce recurring problems.
